The Master Plan
THE MASTER PLAN
"The Master Plan” emphasizes a comprehensive approach to end-of-life planning for individuals with a terminal diagnosis. It underscores the significance of thorough preparation across various aspects of one's life to ensure a sense of peace, fulfillment, and control during the final stages.
We will cover the following:
Logistical Items- Reviewing and documenting logistical details. Clear instructions can alleviate the burden on family members by providing guidance.
Celebrations and Pre-Death Commemorations- Discussing desires for any celebrations or commemorations before death allows individuals to express how they want to be remembered and celebrated. This could include living funerals, legacy projects, and other forms of gatherings. This further allows us to reflect on the individual's wishes and provides an opportunity for closure and celebration of life.
Comfort and Care Preferences- Detailing preferences for end-of-life care, including pain management, hospice care, and the desired setting for receiving care. This ensures that individuals receive the support and comfort they prefer. This also involves discussions about do-not-resuscitate (DNR) orders and other medical interventions.
"The Master Plan" aims to provide a holistic approach to end-of-life planning, reducing uncertainty for the individual and their loved ones. It encourages open conversations and ensures that the individual’s final wishes are honored- providing a sense of dignity, comfort, and respect in their final days.
